Coming Home to Family
I love my family.
Coming home for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other time is always one of my favorite events of every year.
As an ex-ultra gamer nerdboy, it’s sad to think about how many memories I lost because of the time I was “with” family but chose to do something else (like sit in front of my PC). The best part of life is relationships. Without them, we are less than animals, but with them, we are full of life, happiness, and reasons for living.
As entrepreneurs, we often hide ourselves away from the world working tirelessly night and day and sacrificing endlessly for our dreams, but it’s important to ask ourselves, “Is it worth it?”
If we don’t stop to smell the flowers often enough, we might just see our whole life pass us by missing so many important moments and memories — the things that actually make our life worth living.
Even now I think about being younger, especially as I was when I was a child and all the wonderful memories of not having a single worry or care in the world and how incredible it was. I made so many memories just enjoying the moment and being right there right then all of the time.
As an adult, it can be so easy to get lost in the day-to-day and just miss out.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, no matter what you do, or what you’re waking on, make sure to take time for your friends, family, and loved ones. In the end, those people and the experiences you have with them will be the only things that truly matter and bring you great happiness in your life.
And now, with cell phones, it’s so easy to reach out and say hi even if we can’t be there so you have no excuse. You have the time, it only takes a few minutes.
Share in the love this holiday season and have a wonderful Christmas or a wonderful whatever holiday you celebrate.
